Saving energy or just trying to Control?
I absolutely oppse Nixon's plan of conserving energy. I do believe that we should conserve energy, however I do not want to be told when I can get something and how much. The government should have a very limited role in our lives and should not be telling us how to live our lives. If the government can tell us what and when, what makes this country a free country controlled by the consumers right to chose what they want? In the great words of Thoreau: "A government that limits least governs best" (Civil Disobedence). Besides the government being too controlling, many people would have the attitude of just because you don't want me to do it means that I will. I think that many people started to dislike Nixon and therefore felt no need to listen to what he wants. I also don't think his plan on saving money and saving energy was any good for the economy considering our economy is so dependant on people buying goods. I think Nixon could have come up with something much better than what he did. This plan was ultimately a fail to which no one listened to or cared.

Stabs at the Government
Lyrics to Handlebars :
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars
Look at me, look at me
hands in the air like it's good to be
ALIVE
and I'm a famous rapper
even when the paths're all crookedy
I can show you how to do-si-do
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus
Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took
I can do anything that I want cuz, look:
I can keep rhythm with no metronome
No metronome
No metronome
I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone
On the telephone
Look at me
Look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be
ALIVE
In such a small world
All curled up with a book to read
I can make money open up a thrift store
I can make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty four
Miles to a gallon of gasoline
I can make new antibiotics
I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run a business
And I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers shakers and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the systems
I can do anything with no assistance
I can lead a nation with a microphone
With a microphone
With a microphone
I can split the atoms of a molecule
Of a molecule
Of a molecule
Look at me
Look at me
Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure
I can hand out a million vaccinations
Or let'em all die in exasperation
Have'em all healed of their lacerations
Have'em all killed by assassination
I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like'em and
I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command
I can guide a missile by satellite
By satellite
By satellite
and I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope
Through a telescope
and I can end the planet in a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handle bars
No handlebars
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars
I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars
Look at me, look at me

Men vs. Woman for Equal Rights
Personally, I think that men and woman are as equal as they will ever be and I am pleased with the equality between the two sexes. I think that woman, if they are equally as qualified as a man for a job will have an equal shot at getting the job. I don't know if this makes me an ant-feminist, but I'm okay if woman don't make as much as men do. I think that as long as they make around the same pay it's okay with me. Maybe I'm just old fashioned in that regard. I think that especially in this part of the country men and woman are treated equally, but I do think that in other parts of the country that they are not. In these areas I think improvement needs to take place to make it more equal. Fortunately, I live in an area where this type of discrimination is not common.

Reflections!!!
1. I never knew that JFK had such a large family. I for whatever reason thought that there was just him, Bobby, and Eunice Kennedy. I never knew that he came from such a large well off family that had as many houses as he did. He has houses in Paris, Hamptons, Cape Cod, and Boston. I also was not aware that his dad was as involved in government as he was. This would make sense being that JFK got involved at a young age. I also never knew that JFK had such an affinity for writing. I never knew that he had published his own books. I found this to be quite interesting. I also did not know that JFK was as involved in special needs as he was. I didn't know that he had gotten involved in special needs programs at all. I think that this was incredibly noble of him. Most presidents do some kind of charity work but I thought it was interesting that he chose a field to do charity work that had little to no attention to it at all. I never knew that Eunice basically started the Special Olympics. I think that's awesome!!! I also never knew that the President recorded most of his speeches and phone calls. I think that it's a good idea so that people can't accuse you of saying things that are not true. I thought that listening to some of these phone calls and reading some of the documents was very interesting.
2. I thought that the walking around the museum was the most interesting. Seeing the pictures, his random things that he has gotten throughout his life, and all his quotes on the wall was really cool. I also enjoyed the space exhibit.
3. I was hoping to see the coconut but Kayla and I could not locate it (lol). Other than trying harder to locate the coconut I don't think that I would have changed anything. Actually, maybe the length of some of the videos. I found them hard to stay awake for and often times my mind would wander to something else.
4. To be perfectly honest I don't think JFK deserves to be listed as one of the greatest presidents of all time. I think he had a lot of good ideas, but he did not accomplish enough to deserve that title. I think that he was a reasonably good president with a lot of good ideas and hope that was not able to get carried out because of his death. I feel that he is not really the best representation or atleast not the person I would want to represent our country. I don't want someone who had multiple affairs representing America like that. I think it sends the wrong message, like we are all promiscuous people that don't really care. I think that he was a good president and belongs somewhere in the the top ten...maybe number ten.

Zooks versus Yukes!
Will the battle of the butter spread out out on this overly burnt toast and be done? Never ever believes the Yukes who spread their butter the better way. Neither side ceases to back down. The battle will continue neither side will give in. The battle is decided that both sides must out do each other and it seems that this is an impossible task ahead! The battle must go on!
